Our first container!
From Pennsylvania to The City of Hope

February 1st was a day of great excitement as Dale and Loretta Martin and the Murrays (our missionaries) sent a container to Tanzania. They have worked hard, along with friends and family members, to fill the container with building supplies, tools, tractor tires, a generator and other personal items for the Murrays. It also carries supplies to bless the orphans who will reside in The City of Hope.

Lumber being loaded for shipment.

This container is a great blessing as the cost of building supplies has continued to climb, especially because of the crisis in neighboring Kenya. The container should arrive in time to benefit the building team going in April. We want to thank everyone who gave so generously, both financially and through donating the numerous items that are now on their way.

We will be sending containers every few months. For details, contact Scott or Regina at our office.

Dr. Chacha is so excited!

Advancing Your Vision in 2008

Dear Partners,

I wish you a Happy New Year! It is wonderful to be alive in Christ! I am writing this after processing many emails, phone conversations and news reports. It seems that the world around us is chaotic. We are surrounded with so much negative news coming through the media, such as the assassination of Bhutto, the killings of hundreds of innocent victims in Kenya, economical crisis and chaos in the stock market. These things, though chaotic, are not strange or new to those who are in touch with The Word of God.

In Matthew 24:6-8, Jesus said:
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

In spite of all this negativity, I still believe that 2008 will be a glorious and tremendous year. I am sensing that something great and powerful is being released in the Body of Christ. We cannot allow all this negativity to take our focus away from the Kingdom Mandate - the call of The Great Commission. Please pray for the nation of Kenya, especially for the church at this crucial time.

God wants His kingdom, power, and glory to be advanced in your life and in the world where you live. He wants you to have new expectations and a renewed vision in 2008. And He definitely wants you to let go of the expectations of the past. Allow God’s fresh anointing and grace to flow through you this year.

Join the new breed of believers who are choosing to believe God for BIG things for His Kingdom. These are believers whose mindsets are focused on kingdom agendas and kingdom advancements. They are tired of small dreams that are time-consuming and keep them going in circles like a merry-go-round.

Remember, your expectations, which are determined by your faith, determine your achievements. If you continue to have a small mind-set, then you will continue to accept a lower version of the BIG dream God has for you. The BIG dream won’t happen until you adjust your mind-set to God’s parameters.

God is a God of purpose. His desire is for His people to never shrink back (see Hebrews 10:38-39), but to seize opportunities for advancing the Kingdom and become more spiritually mature. If we are going to expect God to do great things through us, then we need to begin to think and act like Him. We are not to accept all the negatives we see and hear through media reports and through people of bad influence. We are to see things through His eyes. Though you may be experiencing some hard times or setbacks now, you do not need to give up your BIG dreams. We know God never loses a battle.

May God cause your vision to move forward, as you put your faith and trust in Him. Remember, your attitude of faith in God and courage are the fuel that will move you forward in God’s kingdom this wonderful year. Use your faith to develop eyes that see what does not yet exist. This year, dare to step into the realm of the impossible. See the incredible and visualize the unbelievable. Be a Kingdom-builder, a partner with God for the impossible. Become a global-minded Christian, understanding that God is at work in all the nations of the world, His kingdom is advancing, His army is being mobilized, and His people are destined to win!

With The City of Hope positioned less than an hour’s drive from the border of Kenya, we are very dependant on supplies from Kenya to move forward with building The City of Hope. The crisis in Kenya has caused shortages and price escalations which have been hurting our progress. We, however, are determined to move forward. We need your help to have the mission center prepared for our missionary family that will be moving over in April. Any donations toward supplies will be greatly appreciated.

God Bless You
.

Yours in His Service,

Dr. John N. Chacha

Our first step to make the City of Hope self-sufficient is to start a mini-dairy farm with 10 -15 milking cows which will provide enough milk for the children of The City of Hope and enough fertilizer for the vegetable garden. We will be able to use the surplus milk to help malnourished children in the village.

A total of $50,000 should be able to compleete this project which includes:

· 4 acres of additional land
· building a barn
·
fencing and planting pasture land for grazing and hay
·
employing a full-time worker.

If you and your family would like to be a part of this project, you can use your credit card or mail us (see contact information above).

· $500 per pregnant cow - ready to produce milk.
