Off to the Nations

After a short, much needed break from traveling, I am off to the nations again. I think I am addicted to missions or maybe I have a missions' virus. I have enjoyed meeting with many of our partners over this time in the States.

We want to thank all of our partners who are helping us to move forward with this great vision. It was wonderful to finally meet with our Connecticut team. Your enthusiasm and support is already achieving results. We are especially grateful for the young people in Connecticut and New York who are enthusiastically sharing the vision of The City of Hope in their schools. We are also thankful for the Pennsylvania team who succeeded in shipping a container filled with building materials and supplies needed for The City of Hope. What a blessing to have friends and partners like you. We also want to thank our partners in Greensboro and Kuwait who are engaged in getting the hospital built. We will be getting you up-dated pictures on the hospital project.

Today I spent a lot of time on the phone with our Tanzania team as they are busy preparing themselves for the upcoming visit of the vice-president of Tanzania. He is very much interested in what is happening at The City of Hope. Please continue to pray because we still need financial breakthroughs to continue with the work.

My purpose for this upcoming trip is three-fold:

Kenya

First, I will be stopping in Nairobi, Kenya and then visiting areas that have been affected by the recent crisis. We want to thank those of you who have responded financially. At this point, we have received nearly $10,000.00 towards this cause. This will go far in helping several families that have experienced significant loss. We will keep you informed of the situation. Please continue with your support. Our ministry is taking care of all the overhead costs so that 100% of your Kenya relief contributions can go directly toward helping the suffering families.

The City of Hope

Second, I will be traveling with Richard Murray to The City of Hope where we are making tremendous progress. We will be working on the plumbing and the sewage system. Today we received wonderful news from Zao water, one of our partners in ministry, that they will be drilling a well for us at The City of Hope. This is a life-giving gift and an amazing miracle from the Lord. We will still need another well at the hospital so keep praying. We hope the finances will keep on coming to enable us to complete the project so that our missionaries can move in and we can be ready for the children in June.

Dar es Salaam

My third mission is to hold a conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Please pray for the people and the nation. Dar es Salaam is one of our key cities in Tanzania and out of it we believe we will be able to reach many parts of Tanzania. If you want to be part of this mission, you can use your credit card to make a donation on-line.

A Child On A Big Mission!

The other day we had a special young visitor in our office. When she left our hearts were totally changed and we were reminded of why we are here. I want you to meet our special guest, Paige, from Martinsville, Va. What makes her special is that she is just nine years old but ready to take the world for Jesus. Here is her story:

"Last summer in Vacation Bible School we learned about the many kids in Africa who don't even have clean water to drink. We all brought in our saved pennies for missions and collected $37.58. After that week, we put labels on two baskets which read, "Pennies for Mission." My brother Hayden and I continued to collect pennies each Sunday from our church family. We stood at the door when the service was over and people put coins into the baskets we were holding. My cousins, Hannah and Nicole helped my brother and I when we had to leave right after church. Every week we would take the pennies home put them in wrappers and count them so they could be taken to the bank. Sometimes we did it right after Sunday School.

Paige - Age 9

Then we started finding silver coins in our baskets. By November we had collected, rolled and counted $290.05. We were very excited as the money grew for the kids that would be living in the City of Hope. Our church family also donated "throws" and blankets for the beds in the orphanage. When I went with my family, we bought four throws, two for a girl and two for a boy .I saw cases of water in the store and it made me think of the kids in Tanzania, I was sad for them.

I became "saved" just before Christmas and I am blessed to help the kids who will be living in Tanzania at The City of Hope. - Paige

At Teamwork, we are excited to find so many people, like Paige, who are willing to give what they can to bring hope to the hopeless in Tanzania. It is exciting to see how God has joined many people together to reach the poor, the hungry, and the desolate. That is what Teamwork is all about. We have people giving blankets and preparing bags full of school supplies, toiletry items and other gifts for the children. We have other young people buying desks for schools. Other people are not only giving contributions themselves but are sharing with their friends and neighbors, spreading the news of this great opportunity to impact a nation, to train and equip the younger generation of leaders. Please find a way to get involved, to help us to build The City of Hope.

Right now we need major donations to be able to purchase a pickup and a Land Cruiser. These are necessary to meet the transportation needs at The City of Hope. We have a great opportunity right now to purchase a vehicle at close to half the usual price. Please give toward this purchase.

God Bless You.

In His Service,

Dr. John N. Chacha
