Dear Friends and Partners,

Greetings from Tanzania. I have finally arrived at The City of Hope after a long drive from Dar es Salaam in our new Toyota Hilux (pick-up). Things are looking good. We have increased the number of workers to speed up the process.

This month is full of action. The process of clearing the container has started. This is our first container we've brought here. It is full of clothes and supplies for the children, as well as building tools and supplies and household items for the Murrays. These things will make our work much easy.

The Murrays, our first missionary family, are now arriving at The City of Hope. They are leaving today, as we write this. We are looking forward to having them here in Tanzania for two years.

The Murrays are from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Rich and Missy have three children: Hannah, Josh and Josiah. Missy is a home-schooling mom and will be teaching English and working with the administration at The City of Hope. Richard is well-rounded with skills. He will be training and working with the people to complete the building project and get our farm going. He is well-skilled in carpentry, mechanics and agriculture.

The whole family is excited about becoming our first American residents at The City of Hope and kicking off the program, seeing the operations starting up. Rich and Missy were the people to give the first seed money towards the building of The City of Hope. They have a lot of great ideas that they will be implementing, beginning this month. Rich has had his own construction team as well as much experience in farming and mechanics. It will be great to have people of their caliber and expertise on the ground at The City of Hope.

The Murrays are sacrificing much – leaving their home, a business, and family members. However, they are confident that this is a part of God’s plan for their life and are looking forward to the adventure.

We are so happy to see how everything is coming together. Many people are making Teamwork their outreach arm. If you are not a regular supporter of this ministry, we would like to invite you to be a part. The City Of Hope is our main place for humanitarian efforts. We want to be more relevant in the market place and become part of the solution to the human dilemma. We hope that The City of Hope can become your city for the hope of Africa; a place to reach the underprivileged communities; a place to be involved in transforming lives.

Becoming a Reaching-Out People

Jesus came into the world for a number of reasons, but the primary reason was to save the lost (Matthew 9:13). Lost and underprivileged people matter to God. Therefore, they should matter to us also. Saving lost people is God's bottom line. That's the only thing that brought Jesus out of heaven to earth.

God's heart is for the world. The Holy Spirit has come to empower, enlighten and encourage us to do our part. Our mandate is the Great Commission, reaching out to every person.

Activities such as prayer, worship, ministry and fellowship are very important. But reaching out to the lost and the underprivileged must become just as important. We need to reset our priorities so that we can reach more people.

Thank you for your continuous financial support. Immediate action is needed to tie the loose ends together such as completing the sewage system, securing the compound and, in partnership with Zao water, being sure that the water is flowing from the well throughout the compound.

God Bless You,

Dr. John N. Chacha
